Biography
About Dr. Alexander Gart, M.D.
Alexander Gart, M.D.
Alexander Gart, M.D., graduated from the Moscow Medical School and was trained in general, vascular, and cardiac surgery. At the Moscow Institute of Transplantology and Artificial Organs, Dr. Gart participated in one of the first Russian heart transplants. After moving to the U.S., he completed a general surgery residency and a vascular surgery fellowship. He was a member of the Columbia University Department of Surgery and also served as the director of Endovascular Intervention at Lincoln Hospital. Dr. Gart specializes in a wide range of vascular problems, including minimally invasive and surgical treatment of peripheral vascular disease, aortic aneurysm, and carotid artery disease. His area of special interest is venous insufficiency and varicose vein disease. Dr. Gart is board certified in general and vascular surgery. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society for Vascular Surgery, and the American Venous Forum.
