Poonam Velagapudi, M.D., is an experienced interventional and structural cardiologist with board-certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, and echocardiography. She earned her medical degree from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, India, and a master of science from Eastern Michigan University.
With advanced residency and fellowship training from Columbia, Brown, the University of IL, and the University of Missouri, Dr. Velagapudi specializes in complex cardiac interventions and structural heart disease. A recognized leader in academic medicine, her career is marked by significant contributions to the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Dr. Velagapudi is also a prominent medical editor and consultant, having held editorial roles for JACC: Cardiovascular Interventions and the European Heart Journal.
