As Indianapolis begins to thaw after “Winter Storm Fern,” local vein specialists at USA Vein Clinics are warning residents about the hidden effects of prolonged sitting during extreme winter weather. The warning, which was featured in Patch, states that blizzards and polar vortexes encourage sedentary behaviors that worsen vein disease symptoms, such as leg pain, heaviness, and fatigue.
To support the community, the outpatient clinic is hosting a free “Let’s Talk Veins” wellness event in downtown Indianapolis. The event aims to help residents understand why symptoms often worsen during cold weather — and what can be done to alleviate them.
“Let’s Talk Veins” is scheduled at many USA Vein Clinics locations between now and March.
To RSVP or find dates and locations near you, visit USA Vein Clinics’ Eventbrite page or call (224) 661-1824.
