Varicose veins always appear as visible and unsightly veins: Sometimes varicose veins appear as ropy, swollen and bulging veins, bluish or purplish in color but they can sometimes be deep without an appearance but still cause symptoms like; tired and achy legs, swelling and skin color changes. Myth#5. Varicose veins will go away on their own: Varicose veins are caused by dysfunctional valves that cannot be fixed. These damaged valves can cause blood to flow backward and pool in the legs.
